The first testimonial letter is written by a client of Rod’s to Dr. Thompson, his clinical supervisor, in 2010, while he was working at the Sierra Vista Hospital Behavioral Health Clinic.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and TAT (Tapas Acupressure Technique) are both methods of resolving traumatic incidents by gently tapping or holding specific acupuncture points.
It is a hand written letter so we have transcribed it here.
“June 10th 2010
Dear Dr. Thompson,
I want you to know how much benefit I have received by working with Rod Sorrell learning the various complementary techniques, each helping in it’s own way, but especially using EFT and TAT.
EFT has been an invaluable and effective tool that I can use at home to address physical symptoms or emotional situations or memories as they arise. As I learn how to vary the application it has become even more effective. I have found it very empowering to have this tool to use at any time to defuse symptoms and emotions.
I have seen counselors a few times over the last 30 years for various traumas in my life. Their nonjudgmental support and encouragement, discussion and observational feedback have helped me through some difficult times.
It has seemed at times, however, that a puzzle piece was missing. For me, right now, TAT seems to be that missing piece.
With talk therapy sometimes it’s difficult to clear away parts of a trauma when discussing a lot of the details. I’ve found that in using TAT with Rod in session that I don’t have to bring up a lot of details. I can address a situation generally and mention a few key ideas then go through the TAT process. It’s like placing them in a basket and during the TAT sequence of statements, I create a quiet place that allows my mind to shift and heal and balance and clear whatever is necessary without me analyzing or knowing the process, and this process continues for hours or days after.
I know this not because I’m aware of the process working but because I become aware of improvements that have taken place. It has cleared away some layers that I was experiencing as overwhelming overload and which were interfering with me functioning. TAT cleared a space for me to function better again.
Personally, I am very grateful to be able to use the TAT process as a partner to talk therapy counseling and look forward to more healing.

I am a client of Rod Sorrell. He has been helping me resolve issues related to anxiety, stress and depression and some physical issues. I am in Colorado, so we do our sessions over Skype. We can see each other, so he can get the physical clues from me to see how I am doing, such as body language, facial expression etc.
I have found a great deal of relief as a result of my sessions with Rod. He is kind, gentle, patient and very knowledgeable. I have a much calmer life with less stress as a result of my sessions with Rod.
During our sessions we use Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and other modalities, includent “9 Gamut.” Rod has also taught me how to do EFT when I am in between sessions. I find it very helpful. I have gone through talk therapy with another therapist in the past, and although it was somewhat helpful I never got the big results I have been getting in my sessions with Rod.
His rates are lower than most of my local practitioners and he conveniently accepts PayPal.
I highly recommend Rod Sorrell to help deal with (and hopefully clear) emotional issues.
